In this course, a successful book and periodical author will share with you her secrets for getting published. You’ll learn not only whom to contact, what to say, and how to say it, but you’ll also get specific guidance about what makes a publisher say yes. The ins and outs of query writing, proposal writing, contract negotiations, and working with a publisher will be discussed, as well as what you need to know about self-publishing, literary agents, and vanity presses. The instructor will also describe ways to break into audio and video publishing and additional career opportunities and sources of help for aspiring writers.
